In this week's statement the chancellor of the exchequer announced a stamp duty holiday for everyone buying up to £500,000, other than second-property buyers/investors who still get the benefit of it not being added to their surcharge of 3%.

It's made savings for some buyers of up to £25,000 and this cash will, hopefully, find it's way into the general economy. Looked at another way it has made other properties more affordable and should stimulate activity. We've certainly found a surge in people arranging viewings and asking for marketing valuations.
